Hi all.

There is an interesting issue with metadata that is basically messing up my workflow and I was hoping that someone here might have a solution.

We are drawing a webcomic (thetourbunny.com if anyone is interested) and we have set up some templates to easily export the comic to all the possible formats we need it (strip for website, panels for Instagram, square for Facebook).

Now, when we save the template as .afphoto, the metadata gets a title that is the same as the template name. So if we save the template as TEMPLATE.afphoto, the metadata title becomes TEMPLATE. When we open it back up, add images to the frames, export it as jpg, the metadata title does not change from TEMPLATE to the actual title of the comic, but it stays TEMPLATE. It would not be a big issue, but it seems like the wordpress uploader actually reads that and randomly decides to use that title instead of the filename title.

Is there any way to either a) not even fill in metadata in a file or 2) have the metadata title match the file name every time "Save As" is used?

It is absolutely impractical to have to change the title in the metadata panel in Affinity for every file we make.

In the screenshot in the attachment, I used 0210 - The Interior Designer file as a template for 0313 - WiFi file and the metadata still says the old name.

So, if you have any ideas, I'll be very happy to hear them :)

Cheers!
Antonio

"Title" in metadata is not same as "Filename".

Only if the Title is not filled in, the file name will be inserted there (which I think is an incorrect feature).
