Chris Christner
The screen capture of the error is attached. I thought this beta version fixed the incompatibility with 1.8.6.
Staff Patrick Connor Posted November 17, 2020 Staff Share Posted November 17, 2020 Our file versions are never backward compatible, sorry if you thought that was the case. Once a file has been saved in a new beta, it needs to continue to be opened in the beta or a later beta/release version and can never be expected to be opened in an earlier version. Also the beta is not guaranteed to be serialisation safe, and data can get lost, or files not even be guaranteed to open in later betas. That is why every beta tells you not to use the beta for production purposes. It fixed the issue of the 1.9 beta not recognizing 1.8.6 when trying to figure out if you're a legitimate owner of the application, and thus entitled to run the beta.
