Hello guys,

I am new to Affinty Designer. I would like to create "painted edges border". I only have found tutorials for Photoshop and they're not useful for my case. Could you, please, help me how to achieve this result?

Very simple in Affinity Photo...

  1. Open and image
  2. Create a pixel layer and select the Brush tool (B)
  3. From the Brushes Panel select a textured brush and paint onto the pixel layer.
  4. Right click on the pixel layer and select Mask To Below.
  5. You can continue to paint on the mask to expose more of the image or use the eraser tool (E) to remove parts of the mask and hide the image

Yes you can do the same from Affinity Designer in draw persona and pixel persona, below is an example in Draw persona.

In this example I drew several strokes using an acrylics brush and then used Layer > Geometry > Merge Curves and then did the Mask to below.
