Chris Potter Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Hi, I have a Canon EOS 7D and I am currently using a Tamron 18-400mm "ultra zoom" Why does Affinity Photo tell me that I am using a Tamron 35-150mm lens? Also I am finding Affinity is very slow to load a batch of images. Regards Chris 208A0645.afphoto Quote
Dan C Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Hi @Chris Potter, Welcome to the forums and I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble! It's possible this is being caused due to the Metadata embedded in your RAW file, so I'm going to need a copy of this to investigate further. Can you please upload a copy of your RAW file to the below link for me, then once completed please reply here to let me know. https://www.dropbox.com/request/eLkG87UHF2azH2WePc6z Many thanks in advance Quote
Chris Potter Posted November 21, 2020 Author Posted November 21, 2020 Hi Dan, I've sent you a copy of the Canon RAW file in CR2 format Quote
Dan C Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Many thanks for your file Chris and my apologies for the delayed response! I can confirm I've replicated this issue in the retail and beta versions - the metadata is correct for the image from what I can see so it appears to be a detection/UI bug in Affinity. I will get this logged with our developers now and we hope to have this resolved in the future Quote
Ulf W. Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 Hi Guys, I found out that Affinity automatic detection does not work correctly after updating the firmware of my Tamron 18-400mm to VERSION2. I updated my lens on 2021-01-08 and after the firmware update, it is detected as a Tamron 35-150mm f/2.8-4.0 Di VC OSD. Before the firmware update, it was correctly recognized as Tamron 18-400mm. Chris Potter Posted January 12, 2021 Author Posted January 12, 2021 I have experienced this with ,my Tamron 18-400 and reported it to Affinity, they have reproduced the problem and are going to correct it Quote
