Does 1.9 only run on Big Sur?

I tried a beta the other day and it said Big Sur only. Does this mean unless I update my computer and OS, I can’t update to 1.9 when it’s out?

Probably has to do with that the beta is older than the latest MacOS version (did you upgrade to 1.8.6 already). I don't have the latest 1.9 beta installed, currently, but previous versions ran on Catalina without problem (other than the problems you could expect in a beta).

It should run on the versions of Mac OS we currently support please could you provide a screenshot of the message you receive when running the beta?

It was an early release of photo, because it’s ok now. Ran no problems.
