CVA Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Is it me or this square appears to always more white in color that the rest no matter which one you have selected. ? And if so, is there a reason for it ? I know it might be me, my monitor, my eyes LOL or something explained somewhere but I had to ask. TIA Quote

GarryP Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 The Transform Panel is explained in the Help under Panels, Transform Panel (or the online documentation, which is a copy of the Help). The thing you pointed at in your image is the Anchor Point Selector, which isn’t explained very well in the Help. This thread has some explanation which might be useful: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/115319-anchor-point-selector/ Basically, the white point says “This is top-left”, so you can orient yourself a little easier, and not much more than that (if anything). CVA Posted November 13, 2020 Author Posted November 13, 2020 Thank you, @GarryP and @Pšenda I'll take a read about it Quote
Pšenda Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Hi @Serif,I have a few questions about Affinity features, that I don't understand. I drew a square for which I wanted to mark the position of the Anchor Point Selector using the start and end stroke arrows. To my great surprise, the start and end stroke position does not match the Anchor Point Selector. Hm, interesting. So I marked the Anchor point selector using an fx gradient. I rotated clockwise/anticlockwise, and the Anchor Point Selector tracks that rotation. Then I performed Flip Verical, the square flipped correctly, but the Anchor Point Selector unexpectedly flipped vertically and horizontally, as if a 180° rotation had been performed. But the 180 ° rotation looks like this. Next I performed Flip Horizontal, the square flipped correctly, but the Anchor Point Selector didn't move. I understand, that Flip operations have a problem quantifying their rotation, because it's not really a rotation, but the Anchor Point Selector could maintain the correct/expected position - it could flip like an object. Thank you for the explanation. GarryP Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 I can confirm this issue in Designer 1.9.0.834 beta on Windows 10 20H2, see attached video (hopefully the unrelated ‘glitching’ seen will be fixed at some point). 2020-11-14_09-58-42.mp4 Quote
Dan C Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 @Pšenda - apologies for the delayed response here! I have checked with our dev team and I can confirm this is a bug, as the Transform Studio is not updating correctly post-flip. I will get this logged with our developers now, I hope this helps GarryP and Pšenda 2 Quote
