Is It Possible to Apply RAW Edits Selectively Multiple Times?

Recommended Posts

Apologies if the title wasn't clear, hopefully I can elaborate.

When I import a RAW Image into AP, I have the option to use a certain brush (I forget the name) which allows me to selectively apply edits to the bits I select.

However, sometimes I want to add some edits to 'Part A' of a picture, and different edits 'Part B' of a picture. This doesnt seem to work as the edits are applied to all 'Parts' of a picture I select using this brush tool.

Is there any way I can apply some edits to some parts and some to others of a RAW Image before I develop it?

You should check the Overlays Panel in the Develop Persona. You can easily make an overlay (this will be red) which will have the changes/edits applied and then make a new overlay which can then have different changes/edits applied. Not everything is available for the changes, for example curves won't work.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hi Bruce,

Thank you very much, you answered exactly my query! I hope they will bring the feature to edit curves per overlay layer in the future too. Thanks again!
