Some people want smaller icons and some want them bigger, depending on personal preference/circumstances and display used. The developers are aware of these requests. It is frustratingly hard to see them they are so small. I would like to add my vote to this. I have just purchased Affinity Designer (27" iMac) and I find myself squinting at the screen. I've got plenty of screen real-estate to devote to larger icons. A preference to set toolbar icon size to something readable would definitely help me learn the UI more quickly.
