Luca Farina Finzi Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Hello. I would like to buy software for my 13 year old daughter to draw with a graphics tablet. Can Affinity photo fit? This is the advice of a friend of mine, an advertising graphic designer. Is this software compatible with XP-PEN Artist12 graphics tablet? Thank You all. Luca, Italy Quote
firstdefence Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Welcome to the forum @Luca Farina Finzi I've had the XP-Pen Artist 12 and it worked well with Affinity. I like Affinity Photo and you can produce some decent art with it but it but for me personally, I found it unintuitive and hard to use and there are better apps for drawing. In my eyes, It’s a photo editor first and a drawing app second. I prefer to use Corel Painter and the brushes are sublime although it is quite expensive but it’s one of the best apps for drawing. Corel do a cut down version called Painter essentials but it is very limited and you cannot customise the brushes which I find a bit mean: https://www.painterartist.com/static/ptr/pdfs/painteressentials/pe7-vs-painter-comparison-matrix-en.pdf. There are free options like Krita and Media Bang that offer a more focused drawing experience.
