How to center text according to circular or square selection

Hi,

 

In Affinity Photo, how can I center text (or image) within a selected area (circle or a square area). I might have a red circle on the upper right corner and I want center the text (small word) inside the red circle.

Select both the text and the shape, then...

Arrange > Align Centre
Arrange > Align Middle

Yup, I followed your suggestions. "20" number is moving to the center of the page instead of the center of the red circle I selected.

That suggests you only have the number selected

In the Layers panels make sure you have both the number and the circle highlighted (i.e. both selected at the same time) before doing the arrange commands

Strange, I'm still getting same result.

But it takes me to center of page instead of center of circle.

You should not have/need "dotted lines to indicate selection"

Clear any selection (dots) then use Move Tool to select the 2 layers in Layer panel then Arrange

If still not working, please try to upload a full-screen video clip so we can see what you are doing

In addition to the advice above, remember to set the “Align To” in the pop-up to “Selection Bounds”, as can be seen in my attached image.

I've been doing both things. I'm going to research and post back here when I find something.
