Handwritten Font as a feature

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

If you search the forums you'll find many requests for color font support, but it's not something that's currently available.

Serif generally does not comment on potential future features, and therefore we have no idea if or when the Affinity applications might support this.

only works in Adobe's Creative Cloud apps

That isn’t what it says on the website.

The font works in all professional design programs, e. g. in Adobe’s Creative Cloud apps and all native Mac OS apps like Pages, Numbers, or Keynote.

There’s a separate note clarifying that it’s only supported by Adobe’s Creative Cloud apps, not Creative Suite, but since it’s supplied as an OTF file it’s reasonable to expect that it will work in monochrome in the Affinity apps.

Oh, thanks a lot Walt! I will then look for color font support...

Thanks also for the enlightenment.

Thank you also for the answer.
My real point was that Publisher does not show any characters at all. According to the website, changing the color in Adobe Photoshop is only possible with a filter.
Then I can only wait and see if that will happen.

Thanks for the clarification. It wasn’t obvious to me that you already own a copy of the font and have tried it in Publisher.

the font has 3 different resolutions, so that applications only load the size that is currently needed.

That means it is an Apple SBIX color font which contains bitmaps of various sizes for each glyph, and it also means there is no fallback vector outline to display because of how that type of color font works.
