TS-plus Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 I am new to affinity, and have tried experimenting with various filters with a little success using the background eraser tool. I am wondering if there might be an easier way to manipulate the image to show the borders more clearly or remove the background completely without affecting the image I attach the sample I am working on. Thanks for any input T shirt printing-plus Quote
Dan C Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 Hi @TS-plus It may be possible to do this, however the image you have provided is rather small at around 280px x 150px and this will make it considerably harder to create a 'clean' removal of this image from the background. Do you by chance have a higher resolution version of this image? Thanks in advance! Quote
TS-plus Posted November 9, 2020 Author Posted November 9, 2020 Thanks for the reply. the image was only reduced for email purposes! Atttached is the original section of image at original resolution. Quote
Dan C Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 Thanks for your image! I used Affinity Photo, with the Smart Selection Brush tool to create the outline of the shoes, this works well for the white shoes, however you do have to do some manual selecting, especially around the centre of the image as the black tones overlap here, making it hard to define an 'edge'. I've attached a copy of the .afphoto file, saved with History Enabled, meaning you can scroll back through the steps I've taken and see how I created this selection. I hope this helps trainers.afphoto Quote
