zbr Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 I find Affinity Designer as a very useful tool but it could become even much better if Serif would include a set of reusable vectors shapes that can used and combined by the user to create artwork. I do have a very good example of app that did something like this: Assembly but sadly they only have mobile apps, with a very different demographic. Still, if anyone looks at their set of shapes, even from the free version they can easily understand where the power comes from, the shapes are very simple and easy to combine, you can even build "animals" using parts. I know that we can collect vector shapes ourselves but reusing them in the app is far from easy. As long you do not have a very easy to access shape browser/picker, opening files is far from practical. Quote
Staff MEB Posted November 9, 2020 Staff Posted November 9, 2020 Hi @zbr, Welcome to Affinity Forums Although we don't provide a collection of pre-made shapes with the app, you can import or create you own and store them in the Assets panel (menu View > Studio > Assets) for later re-use by simply drag and drop them on canvas (check the Using assets help topic for additional info). You may also want to take a look at the geometric shape tools in Affinity - they are quite customisable/flexible and may be useful as a start to create more complex shapes.
