Hi,

I have uninstalled, downloaded, and re-installed Affinity.  I'm using the latest version 1.8.4

When I open Affinity, I see the screen below.  When I try to open images with it, the app goes full screen and completely black.  I can hit command+W to get back to seeing my desktop.

The app is entirely unusable.  What can I do?

I should add that I have started Affinity Photo with ctrl-click from Launchpad and cleared all data.

I can then recover the main app and see it again.  However, I still get the same effect when trying to start a new image or open any image.

The app goes full screen and completely black.

Hi Gustonegro,

Welcome to the forums :)

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "I can then recover the main app and see it again." are you able to see the full app again or just this blank window?

Thanks

Hi Callum,

Thanks for the reply.

When I say  "I can then recover the main app and see it again."  I mean that the main Affinity Photo app interface is visible and clickable again (as opposed to the screenshot I posted above)

However, in the mean time, I discovered a similar issue with mplayer.  When I would start mplayer, the screen would go full screen and black.

This led me to believe there was a higher OS-level error.  I rebooted my mac and now both Affinity Photo and mplayer are working normal again.
