Affinity photo crashes when I use gradient tool

Hi

I've been learning to use affinity for few months now but today it started crashing whenever I use the gradient tool, even on new files. I have the most updated version and the drivers are all up to date.

Attached the only crash report in the folder.

Can anyone give me a tip on what should I do?

Thanks

Hi Adam9,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums.

I can't see much in that dump file so I've asked for another set of eyes. In the meantime, can you try safely resetting the app? You can do this by following these steps. They are slightly different depending on where your purchased the app from:

Affinity Store - Go to %AppData%\Affinity\Photo\1.0 and rename 1.0 to 1.1

or

Microsoft Store - Go to %AppData%\Affinity\Photo\1.0 (Store) and rename 1.0 to 1.1

You can acccess the AppData folder by pressing the Windows key + R on your keyboard and then just type %AppData%

If that resolves the issue, would you mind zipping up the folder you renamed and attaching it? This might allow us to reproduce the crash and get it fixed.

I've just been trying in the beta and retail versions and both, for me, are fine. I'm not sure why it's using so much memory.

Can you please try the beta to see if this exhibits the same behaviour?
