Koolman Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Hi, I accidently deleted my Colors swatches menu in my Swatches tab and now can't figure out how to get it back. I'd like to know how without re-installing my Affinity Designer Quote
firstdefence Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 @Koolman There you go: Colours.afpalette Go to the Swatches panel/tab and click on the burger menu and select Import Palette > As Application Palette. Koolman Posted November 5, 2020 Author Posted November 5, 2020 (edited) Thanks, bu that doesn't work. When I do as you say, it opens a screen on my computer where I guess I'm supposed to choose a file. But, what file do I choose because there is not file, to my knowledge, that would be a Colors Swatch file. Need further help! Edited November 5, 2020 by Koolman Answerer did not tell me to first download the file he attached. I had to figure that out on my own. Quote
firstdefence Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 The colour afpalette is attached to the post above, called colours.afpalette at the side of the text “there you go” that should download to your downloads folder, so when you do "Import Palette > As Application Palette” go and look for the file in your downloads folder to import it. firstdefence Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 An even simpler method is to drag the downloaded afpalette file from your downloads folder to the swatches tab and it will import. Koolman Posted November 5, 2020 Author Posted November 5, 2020 Thank you. My issue is not resolved. But, two things: Why can't I easily find this Colors.palette in the program and next time, please tell people to first download the Colours.afpalette first. Would save frustration levels. But, you did help me and I am thankful for that. Have a nice day! Quote
Joachim_L Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 If it is the Default colours palette you could re-establish by resetting the application (holding CTRL (Windows) at application start) with just the option "Reset fills". Another option to keep a palette "forever" is making it Set as default for a colour format. You'll find this option in the small hamburger menu of the Swatches panel. Another option is backing up your palettes, assets, styles etc. pp. Quote ------ Windows 10 | i5-8500 CPU | Intel UHD 630 Graphics | 32 GB RAM | Latest Retail and Beta versions of complete Affinity range installed

firstdefence Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Resetting is a tad excessive when a simple import of the .afpalette is all that is required.
