I do not know all about Affinity but just in case this is not already in there.....

Make it so you can rotate an image as if it were a 3D object. Most images are 2D. So you put it on a transparent plane and then allow 3d manipulation so you can rotate the image in 3D.

Just an idea. As I have said - still learning. So this might already be in Affinity Designer.
