Hi,

Since the last update to iPadOS 14.1 there are problems with opening DNG (shot with an Leica M10M) from my storage in the iPad (I’ve imported from from SD card to the iPad disc). There is very often (not always) som sort of square appearing in the photo after opening in Affinity, in the lower left part. See examples.

This phenomena appears in different ways/squares, always in the lower left corner.

No processing have been done what so ever to the attached files, they’re only opened in Affinity from iPad, and exported as JPEG.

Regards,

Peter

Photo for iPad uses the Core RAW engine built into iPadOS, from looking at their supported camera list it doesn't speciicaly list the Leica M10 Monochrom as being supported. This may explain the issue in the lower left of the image as I tested opening an image with another RAW engine and didn't see the issue.

I'll log it with our developers to look into to see if anything can be done in our coding.

Hi everybody.

Me too. I have the same problem with LEICA M10 MONOCHROM (FIRMWARE 2.12.8.0)'s RAW and iPad Pro A1876 with iPadOS 14.2 opened in Affinity Photo 1.8.6.198.

I send you the RAW for test it if you want.

Could you help me please ?

Best regards

Hi @raimon21,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Thanks for the file and report. As Lee D said above the issue was logged but there wasn't progress here yet. I've added your file to our log/bumped the report to bring it up to developers attention again.

NOTE: Affinity Photo 1.9 for iPad (currently in Beta) will offer an additional RAW engine (Serif Labs engine - our own) which does open these files correctly.
