Custom Macro Causes Crash

Recommended Posts

I created a macro to build a vignette, before the macro is run a selection must be made.

When I first created the macro, it worked well on the image, however, after saving it to the macro library, when I re-open Affinity Photo and try to run against another image the program crashes.

So I tried recreating the macro and the same thing happened, it works on the image at the time but if I save it to the library, open Affinity Photo again, make my selection and then try to run the macro - the program crashes.

I have attached a copy of the exported macro.

@Cookie Man

The 2nd step in your macro is "Selection Refinement" which is causing the crash.

There have been multiple previous reports, over the years, of this action crashing macros.

Not sure what you are doing in the "Selection Refinement" process but suggest you find another way to achieve what you want without using this command.

If you can be more specific of what you are using "Selection Refinement" for someone may be able to assist you further with a workaround.

If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

The issue "Refine selection in macro crashes app" (REF: AFP-1576) has been fixed by the developers in build "2.2.0 Release".
This fix should be checkable in the current customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
