JX Coudrille Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Hullo, JXC here; Having had problems with purchasing 'AFFINITY PHOTO' - rather sad now that, having read your glowing reviews I ditched Adobe - and problems with receiving the licence: I had to send a screenshot of the PayPal page to get it re-sent - I'm now astonished at the snail-like download. Is this normal? MacBook Pro 2019 16" Catalina. It started at 11amgmt and it's now 13:30 with a quarter downloaded. Quote
Dan C Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Hi @JX Coudrille, Welcome to the forums I can confirm that this certainly isn't expected, depending on your internet download speed. Can you please visit the below link, then select 'Run Speed Test' under the Google search, and then let me know your reported download speed here? This should look as below - https://www.google.com/search?q=speed+test Many thanks in advance! Quote
JX Coudrille Posted November 3, 2020 Author Posted November 3, 2020 THANKS DAN C! I'm shocked. I put BT fibre optic, this is a brand new MacBook and all should be ok. I'm sorry for getting irritated! back - literally - to the drawing board then. Best JXC Quote

JX Coudrille Posted November 3, 2020 Author Posted November 3, 2020 Thank you!! seems the problem's with the broadband itself; getting a new roof and the house is bound in steel scaffolding; could that affect speed? Quote

Only if you are (like I am) using the wifi connection, try an ethernet cable if that is the case. You did not report back on your broadband speed you can go to https://www.speedtest.net/ and let us know what your download speed is Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. markw Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 I had this a while back downloading the betas: More than likely it’s your provider’s routing to the download server that’s the issue. And more than likely is just a temporary problem. I'm in the UK and for me it lasted two or three days and just affected files held on some servers in America and not just Serif's files. JX Coudrille Posted November 3, 2020 Author Posted November 3, 2020 Thank you all for your advice. Problem not solved yet but it's time for a beer. Cheers, all! Quote
