Has anyone had experience with this A.photo course?

Recommended Posts

On the search for more "in-depth" tutorials I came accross this website:  Has anyone seen it?

https://www.photography-raw.com/affinity-photo-workflow-video-course/

Microsoft - Like entering your home and opening the stainless steel kitchen door, with a Popup: 'Do you really want to open this door'? Then looking for the dishwasher and finding it stored in the living room where you have to download a water supply from the app store, then you have to buy microsoft compliant soap, remove the carpet only to be told that it is glued to the floor.. Don't forget to make multiple copies of your front door key and post them to all who demand access to all the doors inside your home including the windows and outside shed.

Apple - Like entering your home and opening the oak framed Kitchen door and finding the dishwasher right in front you ready to be switched on, soap supplied, and water that comes through a water softener.  Ah the front door key is yours and it only needs to open the front door.

No but I can recommend Simon Foster’s courses on Udemy.

Familiar with this site, would never recommend it due to its outrageous pricing and strategy for charging for a specific tool/concpt rather than the freedom to choose a title.. Used to have fantastic tutorials with Lynda.com over a 2 year period, compare that pricing with Udemy.   However I did find this:https://georgepeirson.com/affinityphoto/

@Chris26  I hope you know about Affinity Revolution's comprehensive courses, in addition to all the free tutorials they have on YouTube. Affinity Revolution frequently offers deep discounts on their courses. All materials and videos can be downloaded and kept for permanent use.

As an example, they just announced a bundle price for the three courses in their retouching series, all of which I had previously purchased at something like half price.

Affinity Revolution has been an enthusiastic supporter of Affinity products. They deserve our support in return. Serif should be developing relationships with people like this to spread far and wide the power of Affinity products.

I would expect to see at least (somewhere?) a small video of him, just to get a feeling for his style, wording, details, accuracy and other aspects which would influence my individual learning success.

Any idea what this is supposed to tell exactly?

Unfortunately a little too basic for me, but thanks for the input.  I am actually not looking for techniques about how to edit a photo or image, I am simply looking for how Affinity Photo does things, I read a lot of people's questions about A.Photo to get an insight into their problems.  This put me off quite a lot being someone who has photoshopped for many many years.  I read this morning about someone's post over the crop tool and thought, what!  I extract seagulls from 40mb images, does that mean my usual 500Kb seagull now stays at 40mb simply because Affinity does not crop properly?  After all, we do have an UNDO feature and I have never cropped in 20 years and thought: Oh damn it what did I do?  So Photoshop Elements seemed to be the way to go for consistency and familiarity, However Affinity Photo is far far better than Elements, far superior in many ways.  But I do not want to be posting silly questions simply becasue affinity has turned a normally accepted piece of nomenclature into a hazzard trail. Or a simple mask to selection method into a  mental minefield.

I agree, I always stay away from sites that fail to give you an opportunity to assess just a couple of videos at least,  and as far as I am concerned a 60 day money back guarrantee sign I never trust when it comes to educational sites,  anyway I have found what I am looking for.
