Lukasz
How can I attract text to a circle or a donut in Affinity PHOTO? I do as they advise in for Affinity Designer. I click the circle, then the text add tool and look for A with a wave. But for me the wave does not appear.
Staff MEB Posted November 2, 2020 Staff Share Posted November 2, 2020 Hi @Lukasz, Welcome to Affinity Forums Are you using the Affinity Photo Beta? The current retail version doesn't support text on a path, only the Beta. If you are using the Beta make sure the circle layer is selected while you move the Artistic Text tool's cursor over the outline of the circle. If you still have issues can you please attach a small video showing what you are doing please? Thanks. This is how it should work in the Beta: text_on_a_path.mp4 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference | Call for Camera Images
Alfred
In the current retail version of Affinity Photo you can use a macro to create text on a path: Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.3.1 (iPad 7th gen)

Any can help me please, my affinity photo version is 1.8.4 You can't do it in Photo, in 1.8, as it's a function reserved for Designer and Publisher in the 1.8 version. However, please see the post above, just before yours, for a workaround. Staff MEB Posted November 3, 2020 Staff Share Posted November 3, 2020 Hi Ricardo, The other "routine" is a hack to turn a feature that's not natively available in Affinity Photo (v1.8) into an "option" through a macro. You can download/install the macro from this post as Alfred already pointed out above. The select a shape and run the macro. This will not be necessary anymore as soon as v1.9 is released.
