I am trying to set values for default tools. We do editing on a large number of photos using a small selection of tools with fairly minimal modification to values. For example, we'll often use a regular eraser and then a flood eraser with a tolerance of 1%. This is sufficient for 95% of our batch editing. A common workflow looks something like:

1) Open 8+ photos.

2) OnĀ  photo #1, select regular eraser and erase.

3) On photo #1, select flood erase.

4) Set flood erase tolerance to 1%.

5) Flood erase.

6) Save flat.

7) Close current image.

etc. I really just want to erase step 4. I can do the tool selection on the keyboard but then I have to drag the mouse over, click, type 1, hit enter, get back to working with the mouse. If this were preset, I could skip all of that, keep the mouse in one general area, and handle everything very quickly from the keyboard only. It sounds like a minor gripe but, when you have hundreds to thousands to edit, the tedium really adds up and reduces efficiency pretty substantially. Step 4 is probably 20% of the total workflow.

Is there a way to set the default tolerance to 1% so that, at every new tab, it starts at 1% instead of 20%? Thanks!

Welcome to the Affinity forums :)

Unfortunately, the answer is no. Users have been requesting sticky tool settings for years.
