Jrope135 Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 Hi. I am trying to use Designer v. 1.8.6 to create printed templates for cutting shapes out of wood. I’ve spent quite some time making 1:1 scale drawings, but when I print them from the iPad Air to my Epson WF-2750 inkjet using AirPrint, some scaling occurs. Printed shapes are 90-95% smaller than they are designated. For example, a 2 inch square shape prints to measure 1.83 inches. I see no scaling option in the print dialogue window. I’ve tried exporting to PDF, but get the same result. Any ideas? Quote
Staff stokerg Posted October 29, 2020 Staff Posted October 29, 2020 Hi @Jrope135 and Welcome to the Forums, I'd always suggest printing using the apps that are provided by your printer manufacturer as these tend to more options available for how things print. But if you could attach your afdesign file, i can try and see why this would be happening. Quote
Jrope135 Posted October 30, 2020 Author Posted October 30, 2020 Hi Stokerg. Thanks for the welcome. I discovered that some of the problem was operator error. Somehow the document dimensions were set to 11x15” and auto-scaled when printing on letter size paper. I corrected that, and printed the pdf from acrobat reader on my laptop instead of from the iPad and the scaling issue was much improved. From Acrobat the part of the image outside the print margin was clipped rather than the image being sized to fit, but it’s still still not printing 1:1. Unable to attach the actual file at the moment. I’m going to try print a few simple test files today and will get back to you. Thanks for your willingness to help!🙂 Quote
