Paper Simulation

Hi all, 

 

I am new to this forum , photo, kayak and my van are my main centers of interest.

I am happy I did invest in affinity products vs adobe which I have been using for quite some time now.

I Have read the different threads about soft proofing (maybe not all of them). please correct me if I am wrong

but I feel that the soft proofing layer does include paper simulation without 

any choice for the user to activate it ?

I am using a soft-proof layer in Affinity photo with BP Compensation on and Gamut Warning off ( not that usefull) on a blurb or whitewall profile against AdobeRGB.
