Gaangreen Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 Some SVGs are messed up like this when I download them, but they are fine in other programs. What is going on? Quote
Dan C Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Hi @Gaangreen, Welcome to the forums This is likely due to how the SVG file has been exported/saved from other applications. Could you please provide a copy of this SVG, so I can investigate further? What other apps have you opened this SVG in, where you're not seeing the same pixelated results? Many thanks in advance! Gaangreen Posted October 28, 2020 Author Posted October 28, 2020 (edited) Sorry, its an eps file, but it should be similar correct? Adobe illustrator opens it and the eggs are photo realistic. Eggs.eps Edited October 28, 2020 by Gaangreen Quote
Dan C Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 Thanks for confirming that for me! Unfortunately these EPS files are actually .Ai (Illustrator) files in an EPS 'wrapper'. Adobe Illustrator embeds Ai data when saving the file as an EPS which is what it uses to load them back and keep everything editable. The EPS format itself doesn't support gradients meshes, blend modes or any type of transparency. That's why EPS files submitted to stock sites must be Illustrator compatible - so users can edit all objects. Unfortunately Affinity apps don't support .Ai files, which is why when loading these EPS files you are seeing a pixelated version. You can find out more about this at the below link - I hope this helps! Quote
