Problems exporting PDF for print (was: Jan)

Recommended Posts

Hello, I need help regarding export to press ready or print pdf.

I export my design with bleed included using CMYK color profile in document setup. I do check include bleed. The file is enclosed.

When opened in the printer's studio in Illustrator they get a warning about RGB and CMYK mixed profiles and there is no bleed visible (even in the Acrobat Raeder).

What shall I do differently?

Cheers,

Jan

Hi and welcome to the forums @hOnza76,

the bleed is there. I took these screenshots in Publisher (beta) because that was what is open at the moment.

You could also include the trim marks if you go to the Export and choose the More button down at the bottom of the dialog.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

The image on the right is RGB and not CMYK and the bleed is there. Have a look at the properties of the PDF, it is 173 x 117 mm, compared to the original page size of 167 x 111 mm.

Thank you, guys, for your answers! Good to know the bleed is there and I could include print marks but strange Illustrator does not show the bleed.

Anyway, how can I make sure in Affinity Designer that the export file is 100% CMYK? I found on the help site that everythink shall be converted into CMYK if the document setup color mode is CMYK and Convert is ON.
