How to remove image background of pdf file in affinity publisher

Recommended Posts

Unless the background images are just that - a background I’m afraid it’s going to be a manual job of going through each page and deleting the image that makes the background. It might also be easier with a dedicated PDF editor.

Also, these PDF’s tend to use multiple images so one page will probably have a different image than the last, there maybe around 4 or 5 different images being used as a background image.

😱The file has 400+ pages, can you recommend a dedicated pdf editor to me? I tried acrobat, it can't do this job.

I have a pdf file, in every page it has a yellow background,

Can you upload a sample page or 2 (or the entire document)?

One way... (untested)

Open in Publisher
Go into Resource Manager
Click on the Embedded file then Click Replace

Replace it with another file the same size of your document

E.g. a pure white background jpg or a transparent png (maybe)

That is what I first thought. I would be nice if "Locate in Document" - and then delete - would work here across multiple pages.

Resource Manager is less work, but still long-winded but I doubt there is a simpler method. I have some of the forgotten realms literature and the list of resources can be quite long. in the Resource Manager. In Forgotten Realms - City Of Splendors - Waterdeep there are 15 old page backgrounds.

Being able to just turn off the layers from Resource manager would be a nice addition, so that you retain the original images.
