Welcome to the forums Coby.
It looks like you have dragged the text layer to the ‘wrong’ part of the rectangle layer and have created a clipping mask by mistake. And, because you have set the Blend Mode to Erase, you will see nothing as a result.
If you watch my attached video you can see what happens when you drag the text layer to different places, starting with the Blend Mode as Normal and then with the Blend Mode as Erase. Watch where the mouse pointer goes and what happens to the layers as a result.
