scale 1ft to 1cm how do I set it.

As far as I'm aware the Affinity applications do not support scaling.

Scaled drawing will likely be added in a future version, perhaps with other cad features

Scaled drawings within AD would be GREAT! GREAT! GREAT!

I am using idraw/graphics so far, but I would switch immediately to AD, because Adobe, after buying this idraw/graphics is providing no  more updates for this software....so please, include the option for SCALED DRAWINGS including AREA CALCULATION.

This feature is to me - and maybe many others who do technical drawings - much more important, than any extra rendering effect or fancy fill patterns.

Thanks

Mario

I too am trying to embrace more use of Affinity Designer where I find the shortcomings of Trimble's Sketchup/Layout Pro on macOS so debilitating trying to make a simple 2D technical drawing.  So, I said Affinity Designer must have that.  Nope.  I can't even scale a draw straight line to tell the document that line is 10'.  I'd like to draw a second segment 45 degree from the first segment...can't figure that out either.

It is 2020+ folks, theses basic CAD like features should not be absent is a technical drawing vector tool. Please get this into Design asap.  Thank you.  (Meanwhile, I'm off to make my task complete using something that is not Affinity software...sadly.)

Well do we have any news on the Scaling of drawings yet?

We are considerably further down the line with enhancements, with the exception of rather an important one for people who DRAW.

Please any update on this

This is in manual mode. But it is not when a drawing created 1:1 is converted to another scale, such as 1:20, by a simple switch.
But you can simply select the whole drawing, and on the Transform panel divide by the desired number.

Huh? Designer neither is a CAD app nor a dedicated technical drawing vector tool, but a graphic designing app. That's like saying you'd like to participate with a generic street car in a Formula 1 race. "Hey, it's 2021 and that's a car, it should be able to partake, shouldn't it?" For such a race, use a F1 car. And for specialised tasks (like CAD or tecnical drawing), use dedicated apps. Not a designing app which might be used as a workaround for such tasks.

Sure, some CAD features would be nice to have, but assuming they belong into a graphic design app is just ridiculous.

AD allows you to create very beautiful drawings, and schemes, due to the fine-tuning of the outline and fill. Thanks to the pixel preview, you can achieve the perfect result! Achieving the right ratio of line thickness, line color, fill color.

The results of CAD applications will be good for the industry, the builder, the architect. But it can be poorly suited for consumer print products, manuals, etc.

In my opinion, AD has a lot of potential for that.
