Raywalkingbear
In the tutorial video, it shows using a variety of sets, but on my version those areas are greyed out and I can not find where to activate them. Yes, I am new to this.
Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Raywalkingbear. Stylistic Sets are an OpenType feature and not all fonts have them. What fonts have you tried? Here is an example of Cormorant Garamond text with Stylistic Set 03 switched off: And here is the same text with the feature switched on: Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)

Alfred
Gabriola has lots of OpenType features but Ataelac is a name I’ve never previously come across. With Gabriola, select the font, tye some text, and you should find that when the cursor is in that text you can select the stylistic sets from the Character studio panel, in the Typography section: Alfred 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Raywalkingbear
Thanks to everyone. I got it working. Now I just need to see which fonts I have that (1000+) it will work with. Ray Alfred

There may be some font management tools which can help you with that. What is your operating system? In that case, I recommend that you take a look at High-Logic MainType, recent versions of which can show OpenType layout features such as Stylistic Sets in the Sample panel. If you only have a total of 1000 fonts or so, as you indicated earlier in this thread, then the free version (maximum 2500 fonts) will suffice for testing purposes; as you can see from this comparison chart, you would need to purchase a licence for your intended commercial use. 23 minutes ago, Raywalkingbear said: Any suggestions on interesting fonts to use?
