I am using AP 1.8.5.703 on Windows.

I have a wacom tablet, Intuos PTZ-630 (quite old)

The PC is i708700k 3.7Ghz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080

When I use a large complex brush the performance is really bad. In fact I can no longer use the tablet I have to use the mouse which is also very slow but I can get something done. With the stylus it takes around 30 seconds to make a single stroke. The document size is 200mm x 200mm.

Is there anything I can do to improve this?

thank you

Hi Clonkel,

Please could you go into the apps preferences and send me a screenshot of the entire performance tab? Could you also please tell me if you have Windows INK enabled?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Image attached - thanks again

Default prefs from initial install

If I change them to the lowest quality the problem still exists. With a pen its not workable but better with a mouse.

I have slow down issues with other tools such as the paint mixer either using the mouse or the pen. Looking at my PC/Graphics card it is just underpowered for Affinity Photo?

thanks

I have GTX 1060 and i have the same problems if my tablet input method is "Windows Ink". If i set "low precision" or "high precision" - big brushes goes smoothely with almost none lags. (tested on Wacom Intuos 3 and pen display Huion GT-220).

But when i switch off "windows ink" - i often have big spoils at the beginning\end of the lines (like i press a screen by tip with full pressure).
