John Sage
Hi, I am working on some keyboard designs and need to show specific characters. I am an old dog trying to learn new tricks but can't see how to do it. I have added the language in Win 10 and it is showing as selected in the bottom tool bar but the required Characters do not appear. Any suggestions would be appreciated. walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @John Sage. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "language" in this context. I generally think of that as meaning, e.g., English, or French, or Spanish, etc. Do you perhaps, instead, mean "script" or "alphabet" as in something like or ? If so, you need to have a font that includes those characters, and you need to tell Designer to use that font, e.g., in the Context Toolbar. If that's what it is, what script do you need, and what font are you trying to use? John Sage
Hi Walt, Sorry I missed your reply. I basically need to change the character on the keyboard to the corresponding character in another language. In its simples form, the first "character" on a US English keyboard is Q but in French it is A. Now imagine that the I am trying to do it in say Russian. I have Q typed in to the selected location with the language set to English. I want to highlight that character, change to Russian so it now becomes Й Even better would be to highlight each row and convert them. I can do it the long way but I am working on many languages so.. Kind regards John
walt.farrell
I'm not aware of any function like that in Affinity, John. You need to type the characters you want to use. The Glyph Browser can help.
