Ok so I'm trying to move an object but i have to first click on the sidebar in order to move the full object. It only does that with three of the objects I have, there are 6 total. Now I know that it probably sounds a little ridiculous to have a complaint like this, but its mildly frustrating that I have to do it this way. Does anyone know why it does that or how to fix it?

One picture (if they showed up) shows me having click on the object but it only selecting the layer
The other shows the whole object being selected.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @patarchimichanga.

In your first screenshot, your "object" is a (Layer), which is a container for objects. I think that when you click on it Designer is selecting the object (within the Layer) that you clicked on.

In the second screenshot, your object is a Group, and when you click on some part of the group the whole group is selected.

Layers and Groups operate differently, and I think you'll either need to get used to the differences or pick the one to use that operates as you want.

You can alt-click on an individual object within a group to select it independently, and then move and edit it without modifying the other grouped objects. This avoids having to select it in the Layers panel.

You can select the Layer (Layer) and Press CMD (⌘) + G on Mac, Ctrl + G On Windows) to place the Layer (layer) in a group.

You can also left click and hold then drag the cursor over the shape from top left to bottom right, effectively selecting every whole object within that selections bounds, you can now move those objects.

There is a setting in preferences to override the select whole objects only.
