I have a Canon TR7520 printer / scanner when ever I try to "acquire image"

the scan does not work properly  in Affinity Photo all I get is a scrambled Black/White messy

image.

The scanner works properly when using other sources.

Is there a fix for this out there.

Hi @Robert Hodge,

Welcome to the forums :)

When using 'Acquire Image' in Affinity, we simply hook into the Apple Scan API and use this, so the Affinity app has no additional control over your scanner.

Can you please try uninstalling your printer/scanner, then restart your Mac and reinstall the scanner once again. This will hopefully use the latest drivers available for your scanner and should resolve your issue in Affinity.

I hope this helps!

Thanks Dan C,  I'll have to get my son the "Guru"  of all things Apple to implement the  "install" suggestion you've given me I have no idea how to do those

kind of things. I was a faithful Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator user from day 1 but they have lost me forever now.  I'm retired now and don't keep up

with the latest tech stuff just the occasional photo retouch or drawing plan and have a hard time unlearning.

Sorry i'm late in responding didn't know where to search.
