Staff AdamW Posted October 15, 2020 Staff Share Posted October 15, 2020 Status: Beta Purpose: Updates and Fixes Requirements: Purchased Affinity Publisher Windows Store: Not submitted Download: Download Auto-update: Availalble Hi, We are pleased to announce that Affinity Publisher Customer Beta 1.9.0.798 is now available as a download from the link above. If this is your first time using a customer beta of an Affinity app, it’s worth noting that the beta will install as a separate app - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry. This beta is significant update from the 1.8 version available for purchase - we strongly recommend that you do not use this beta for real work as data could be lost and the files you save are not guaranteed to open in previous or future versions of Affinity Publisher. --- PDF Passthrough status was not being saved correctly Prevent flowing text from a pinned frame to the node it is pinned to Fix for slow text input with Hyperlink panel showing Fixed Resource Manager update issue Fixed Preferences > Abbreviations issue with extended characters When creating a global colour from an object also apply it Added top level Menu entry for 'Edit Detached' Anchors created from detached frames are not shown correctly Fixed possible crash when with "Include hyperlinks" in the export dialog Updated Preflight check and PDF Passthrough messages Crash exporting specific PDF with passthrough Placing a PSD causes a Placed PDF is missing or broken preflight message Preferences > Shortcuts does not show Ctrl+Shift+1 to 9 as being used --- Release Notes for 1.9.0.796 Release Notes for 1.9.0.742 --- To be notified about all future Windows beta updates, please follow this notification thread To be notified when this Publisher update comes out of beta and is fully released to all Publisher customers, please follow this thread Uwe367, Move Along People, dominik and 10 others 7
Joachim_L
Our IT department is always rolling eyes when I ask them to install a beta, but it was worth it (again). Linking images with Data Merge is working! Perfect!! Still data set range has to be fixed. Thanks again. In the Mac beta, the function works if you right-click the object on the canvas and pick Add To Swatches > From Fill/Line/Both As Global. Is that what you tried in the Windows beta? Is that what you tried in the Windows beta? No. I had the object selected, and used the "add current fill as global" button in the Swatches panel. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
