John HM Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Hello, And, thanks in advance for any help that may be offered. I used to use the lighting filter all of the time. However, I haven't used it in a while. Just today I've a need to use the lighting filter again. But, much to my surprise it no longer works. The filter tool window appears with all of the controls and the lighting guides appear on the photo. However there is no light. Moving any of the controls has no effect. There is just no light. I would like some light! I am working on the actual photo layer and it is a 16 Bit RGB photo. Have I forgotten how to use the filter? Am I missing something? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! h_d Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 (edited) Which version of which app, and which OS? If you're using the current Beta version of Photo on MacOS, I think there may be a bug as I get the same issue. But not with the release version, or with the Live Filter (from Layer - New Live Filter Layer - Lighting. If not, I'm in the dark. (See what I did there?) Cheers, H EDIT There's definitely something buggy going on but it's more complex than just 'not working'. Seems to affect .afphoto files with grouped layers. Sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes it flattens my grouped layers. You need to be more specific about version/OS etc for anyone to help more with this. John HM Posted October 15, 2020 Author Posted October 15, 2020 Thanks for your response. I should have included that information with my original post. I guess I'm getting old. My OS is Windows 10 latest update. and the Version of Photo I'm running is: 1.8.5.703. Thanks! Quote
