Doing the final work of finishing my poetry and photography book - first book I have ever done.
I thought I was basically done BUT I learned this morning that you can set up "Column Rules" for Text.
So, I watched the tutorial and found it helpful to a degree.
I did set up a Column Rule:
Columns
Columns: 2   Preserve Width: checked
Width 3.62 and 3.62
Gutter: 0.25

 Column Rules
Stroke:  2 pt
Gap:  Top .28    Bottom: .75

Now, following the tutorial I rebuilt the first page in the book that I had previously done by "linking" two columns.  I cleared the page then build my first "Text Column" using the above rules.  Inserted the text and I had a nice vertical rule between the two columns.

Great, went to the next dozen or so pages to rework them and I found that when I did as before, cleared a page of all text and columns, that when I clicked on "Text Frame" on the left vertical tools bar IT CARRIED OVER ALL of the perimeters I had set for my first page!!  Loved it!

However, all of a sudden when I want to about page 13 or so, it no longer is "remembering" the Column Rule perimeters under the "Text Frame" settings and applying them.

I am just getting a single column with NONE of my rules applied.

What changed and how do I get back to what was working - apply the first set of column rules that I built that had been applied to the original page and the subsequent 11 pages????

Last, after doing the first dozen pages with the "Column Rules" I decided I would like to change the "Bottom" setting from .75 to .25 FOR ALL OF THE PAGES.  Is there an easy way to do that, such as "Apply to all Columns" tab?

Thanks in advance - Jack

Can you provide a sample document so I can take a look at the setup to see if anything is different between the pages? If the document isn't for public view you can DM me a download link instead and the file will be deleted once finished with.

Thanks for your message - I finally figured it out - the tutorial left out a couple of key steps that were necessary to
understand the logic and work flow, like what is a "Rule" would have helped, LOL!  Really.
