Data Merge in Master Pages 1.9.0.7.9.6

Recommended Posts

It seems that it's not possible to lay out data merge structure in Master Pages at the moment.

I'm not sure whether this is a bug or simply not planned at all.

It would be a very powerful thing to be able to create a number of page layouts using the Data Merge Node box in Master Pages and being able to change the layout of the merged page at will later. Basically a combination of Smart Master Pages + Smart Merge = a very powerful feature for catalogues, etc.

If assigned to a master page then it creates a new document with the required number of pages but they contain copies of field placeholders only.

When saving that placeholder output I get the error: "Save failed due to an internal error. This should be reported to the development team."
