spinhead Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Just opened the attached file I created yesterday and it shows the black artifacts as in the screenshot JPG. The Navigator shows no problems and the exported JPG is fine. This is the first time it's happened with an AF file. To date this has only happened with SVGs I created as text so I thought it was something I was doing. Happens pretty consistently with my SVGs. Staff MEB Posted October 14, 2020 Staff Posted October 14, 2020 Hi spinhead, I'm having trouble reproducing this here. What your system specs (integrated and dedicated graphics)? If you go to Affinity Designer Preferences, Performance section turn off Metal compute acceleration and restart the system. Does it still display the same artifacts? Also try to change to OpenGL and check again. Thanks. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
spinhead Posted October 14, 2020 Author Posted October 14, 2020 Here are the specs; will try making those changes and test. Chipset Model: Intel HD Graphics 5000 Type: GPU Bus: Built-In VRAM (Dynamic, Max): 1536 MB Vendor: Intel Device ID: 0x0a26 Revision ID: 0x0009 Metal: Supported, feature set macOS GPUFamily1 v4 Quote
spinhead Posted October 14, 2020 Author Posted October 14, 2020 No beneficial effect with the changed settings, but it does become u g l y - d o g - s l o w so I've switched it back. Resizing the image with a quick CMD- CMD+ removes it, so that's what I'll do for now. Happy to do more troubleshooting if we might learn something. Quote
