image as scene break

Hello everybody,

I searched for this topic but couldn't find it. I apologize should the question already have been asked and answered. In that case please send me a link to the topic.

So, I want to format a novel with Affinity Publisher.

In the manuscript there is simply used * * * as a scene break but in the pdf I want an image in its place. Always the same image I might add.

Until now I've only formatted shorter stories so I simply deleted the * * * and inserted the image which I then copied and pasted. To do this with a 400+ page novel is simply too much and frankly, I can't imagine that there isn't a way to replace all * * * with an image at once. I took a closer look at the "search and replace" function but couldn't find an option to do it there so I hope to find help here.

Is there a simple way to solve this problem?

The Find and Replace option would be ideal for this apart from it doesn't have an option to replace text (characters) with an image. I think for now you will need to manually go through the document to replace them.

It's a good idea and it's worth posting in the Feature Requests section of the forum, you never know it may be something thats added in a future update.
