I'm giving affinity a try, so i downloaded affinity photo first and scanned it due to my habit of being on the safe side. When i scanned the software, it gave a red flag. Now normally i know there are false positives, but this one has the name of a remote administration Trojan, which is too specific. I want to know if it's just a false positive due to similarities in some code, packaging method or was the software compromised due to some developer's infected PC (It happened to OSU Official Game before). I really want to give affinity a try as i want to ditch adobe, but i need a confirmation before i proceed to install it.

Scan Results:

https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/28fb9b8fc867ef11ffbae7a2ecd1225083df71d21b5269711ac2f5bcc83ee050/detection

Downloaded from  official serif site, Which gave me a signed file by Serif (Europe) Ltd

https://store.serif.com/en-us/account/downloads/

Meanwhile someone please report it to the virus scanning company if it is indeed a false positive and not a backdoor.

Thanks, Sorry if i sound rude.

Probably false positive, I have a virus protection  in my computer  and didn't gave a warning so far, I downloaded a Affinity trial direct from Serif website. Please check with another AV if you wish.

Hi velvet123,

Welcome to the forums :)

This will have been a false positive we check our builds thoroughly before they go live to ensure no one will ever download a virus from our website.

Thanks
