Jane Horton Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 I am laying out a comic in Affinity Publisher but can’t find any call out ellipses. Am I missing something? Will they be added? Or are they present and I can’t see them? Quote
R C-R Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 On the Tools panel, look for a shape that has a tiny triangle at its bottom right edge. Click that, or just click & hold on the shape icon to pop up a menu of all the available shape tools. Alternately, select the "Customize Tools..." item on the View menu (not to be confused with "Customize Toolbar..." above it) & drag the Callout Ellipse Tool onto the Tools panel. R C-R Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 See for example this video tutorial. At about 00:35 it shows opening the fly-out menu shown in Walt's screen capture. thomaso Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 If you create many call out objects you might consider not to use publishers option of converting the shape into a text frame but rather create bubbles & texts as separate objects for more text layout flexibility. For instance to avoid limitations caused by the targeting part of the bubble shape which influences the object's bounding box in a possibly unwanted way and therefore the text alignment within the bubble.
