For some reason, every time I try to alter the upper right side of a polygon (5+ sides) the bottom right corner gets undesirably altered by the tool, please note, this happens when I create a polygon by adding two objects:

The arrow points to the corner I want to alter, but as you see, the bottom corner is being altered when I do that, all I did was to "join" a rectangle and a triangle using Layer -> Geometry -> Add. Please let me know if I did something wrong or if there's something I should take a look at.

A simpler way would be:

  1. Draw a rectangle.
  2. Press ‘A’ to select the node tool
  3. Convert to curves
  4. Add a node in the centre of the top line
  5. Hold shift and move the added node up to form a peak
  6. Now edit the corners.

I tried your method and got the same result, a workaround for this is, before you use the corner tool, with the node tool selected, click on the bottom right node and click sharp on the convert section on the context panel for the node tool, then use the corner tool you want to edit.

This is a great workaround, thanks!
