Where are imported brushes etc kept? - are they slowing down affinity photo on iMac?

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I've been tidying up my iMac and so have moved folders around that contain my downloaded brushes that have previously been imported to Affinity Photo desktop version.

I just want to check its not having a hard time looking for them as it keeps crashing. Likewise with the fonts. Does affinity copy the brushes etc to its own secret lair? Or use them from where I keep them?

Thanks!!!!!

Hi @fedupofslowmac,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Look for the raster_brushes.propcol and vector_brushes.propcol in the following folders (depending on where you bought the application):

Affinity Store version:

  • Affinity Photo: ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Photo/user/
  • Affinity Designer: ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Designer/user/
  • Affinity Publisher: ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher/user/

Mac App Store version:

  • Affinity Photo: ~/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinityphoto/Data/Library/Application Support/user/
  • Affinity Designer: ~/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner/Data/Library/Application Support/user/
  • Affinity Publisher: ~/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher/Data/Library/Application Support/user/

Once these things are 'found' by the app there is no need for it to look for them again -- they are added to the propcol files @MEB mentioned so the app always 'knows' where they are.
