IPv6 Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 There is a problem with manipulating alpha channel, which is really annoing since some tricks that worked well in previous releases are just not working in beta // Lets say we have a layer with partial transparency (gradient in alpha channel). And a "Level" adjustment, that remaps alpha to higher half. See screenshots. 1) When no groups and Level adjustment right above pixel layer every thing is ok -> Alpha altered in proper way 2) When the same hierarchy is grouped - alpha brokens completely with som dithering dots at the edge and pixel-empty area, see screenshot 3) When Level added directly to pixel layer - it just does not work at all (but it shoudl and it worked in previous versions) In both 3 cases proper behaviour should be exactly the same (as in 1), there is no difference in terms of compositing LevelsAlphaBroken.afphoto
Staff MEB Posted October 7, 2020 Staff Posted October 7, 2020 Hi IPv6, Thanks (again!) for your reports. These issues are not exclusive to v1.9 Beta, v1.8 behaves exactly the same way. If i'm not wrong the second case is already logged. I will check it out and update the report if necessary. IPv6 1 A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
IPv6 Posted October 7, 2020 Author Posted October 7, 2020 Strange, i hit this bug in real situation and it worked well earlier... But may be there were differences in case of 2 UPD: Rechecked in release and yes, you are right, it`s the same behaviour. Initially, i just hit the alpha problem in more complex situation (nesting+masks, etc) which worked well before and got broken with beta update. And make simplified version to demostrate the bug. Seems there is something else should be taken into account than // Anyway, from compositing logic all three cases should be the same (correct me if i`m wrong)?
IPv6 Posted November 27, 2020 Author Posted November 27, 2020 Still a problem in 1.9.0.206... but other compositing bugs now seems to be fixed, thanks god
Staff MEB Posted November 27, 2020 Staff Posted November 27, 2020 Thanks IPv6. Hopefully this one will be too. Just give us a bit more time. IPv6 1 A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
