DarkClown Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Photo Beta 1.9.0.780 crashes on Win 10 when I drag an asset from the panel into the drawing area - no crash report. walt.farrell Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Does it actually crash, or does it hang? Do you have OpenCL enabled in Preferences, Performance? I was able to get a hang, trying to drag an asset onto a new document, but haven't been able to get a crash. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. DarkClown Posted October 6, 2020 Author Posted October 6, 2020 Well the complete application vanished from the screen ... (I consider that a crash and not hanging ). The bug was reproducable - at that time - not after a system restart. But it seemed like it somehow damaged some basic structures since all other Affinity applications after that did not function properly any more (hanging) - they had to be killed in the task manager. Staff Chris B Posted October 7, 2020 Staff Posted October 7, 2020 Just tried a few more times with different objects and it's ok. I will keep my eye out though seeing as both Timo and Walt have had a crash or hang. How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
Joachim_L Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Maybe it depends on the asset itself or other assets inside the propcol? Your assets.propcol could be useful for the developers? ------ Windows 10 | i5-8500 CPU | Intel UHD 630 Graphics | 32 GB RAM | Latest Retail and Beta versions of complete Affinity range installed
DarkClown Posted October 7, 2020 Author Posted October 7, 2020 BTW: talking about assets - imported assets are not saved by the latest beta. After closing program starts again with old settings (assets). i7-12700KF, 3.60 GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, Wacom Intuos 4 Tablet, Windows 11 Pro - AP, AD and APublisher V1 and V2https://www.timobierbaum.com

After closing program starts again with old settings (assets). I do not have that problem, Timo. Possibly something broken in your assets.propcol file? Or possibly something that depends on the kind of asset? -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. DarkClown Posted October 8, 2020 Author Posted October 8, 2020 Hi Walt ... sorry, this was my mistake - no bug! I did not realise that the asset panel adds(!) additionl assets. Despite the fact I have been working with the last imported asset after a restart the first (old) asset in the list is shown again - this might be a point of improvement since it leads to confusion. The lates imported asset was just not displayed any more and I had to select it again from the asset list in the panel. I thought importing another asset would exchange(!) the old asset in the panel for the new one. i7-12700KF, 3.60 GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, Wacom Intuos 4 Tablet, Windows 11 Pro - AP, AD and APublisher V1 and V2https://www.timobierbaum.com
BPf Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Similar - some assets (Collredctions, Maps) seem to repeatedly cause a crash, others work fine, though. Went through a couple crashes after loosing half an hour of work but didn't continue to a more exhaustive search.
