Staff MEB Posted October 6, 2020 Staff Posted October 6, 2020 Hi @stwbs, Welcome to affinity Forums All EPS files sold on stock sites are Adobe Illustrator compatible. These files open correctly in Illustrator because it embeds proprietary Ai data in the exported EPS files which is what is uses to load them back in, keeping all objects/features editable. Affinity apps are only able to access the EPS data which depending on the features used to create the file (transparency, blend modes, mesh fills etc) may be flattened/split in different layers/objects than the ones used to originally create the file. stwbs Posted October 6, 2020 Author Posted October 6, 2020 Thanks for quick reply. That's a pity 😕 Quote
Staff MEB Posted October 6, 2020 Staff Posted October 6, 2020 Hi stwbs, The EPS format itself is quite limited (and old) and don't support most modern features (complex gradients, mesh fills, any transparency type/blend modes etc). If possible, download/use another format like SVG, Ai (only if the PDF stream is included in the Ai file) or PDF. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
