Ian-
Use of Plugins is one of the most common operations with a pixel editor. Historically the plugin menu has been buried under several subfolders within "Filters". As most of the AP UI is very "Modern" in its approach why not improve the UI by surfacing plugins within the UI? Come on Serif, lead the way :)-
fde101
This doesn't really hold up logically when you realize that many of these types of application support more than one type of plugin. Currently, Photo only supports filter plugins, but what happens if/when Serif starts adding support for file import/export plugins, for example? Do you really want those in a separate menu from other import/export operations and listed alongside filter plugins? How about plugins to support scripting languages? In one menu we now have "Import MyFile Format...", "Export SomeOtherFormat....", "Crystalize", and "Run StrangeScript Code..." The idea should be for a plugin to blend in well enough with the standard features of the application that one can lose track of whether or not it even is a plugin. Thus image filter plugins get listed under the Filters menu, but I would take it a step further and eliminate the "Plugins" submenu, instead listing them directly at the bottom of the Filters menu itself. If categories for the plugins were known I would prefer they be categorized alongside the built-in filters, but as they probably are not, putting them in a separate section of the menu (with a separator line rather than being in a submenu) and continuing to list them there by manufacturer would be a reasonable middle ground.
