Paste a text into a textbox

I want to paste some text from the clipboard into a textbox in Designer. But the paste menu option is greyed out.

Any suggestions?

Same result here. Looks like they introduced a bug in last quick update! Still working in Affinity Photo.

A long press on screen brings up another paste menu, which still works.🙂

BTW, can you tell me how to paste a text without it’s style as „plain” text?

Hi @pummelfee & @DM1  

I've created both an artistic text object and a regular text frame in a new document within Designer, wrote the word 'test' into the artistic frame, selected the word, copied it (using the Edit menu at the top), then pasted it (again using the edit menu).

At no point was the paste options greyed out for me. Can you please confirm:

What source was the text being pasted from?

Does this happen in any document for you?

Strange... it was greyed out in the top menu in a document originally created on the Mac. Can‘t reproduce it now. The source was text from an eMail.

The other question was about the formatting. How can i insert text without?

Thanks for letting me know, I've been able to reproduce this after restarting the Affinity app, and there certainly does appear to be some issues with the pasteboard - so I'll get these logged now with our developers.

Unfortunately there's no option that I'm aware of currently for this on the iPad, my apologies. I believe it is logged as an 'improvement' with our devs and I'll be sure to bump that log with your request now

As a workaround you could paste into a text editor such as Notes or Documents (by Readdle), then copy that and paste into Affinity.

Alternatively, set up a second text box with the text style you want, copy that and use Paste Style into the other text box. 🙂
